Couples Counseling. Is it for me?
Couple relationships can be a source of joy, satisfaction and support until they start to break down. Many of us may experience difficulty as a couple at some point in our lives: constant arguments, anger or infidelity are examples. When communication and trust break down we may feel lonely, angry, depressed and with low self-esteem. In these moments a separation or divorce may seem a valid option.
How does couples counseling help?
Couples counseling allows you to talk through your concerns with a trained counselor in a safe and objective environment. It will help you gain insight into the ways that you both contribute to your difficulties. By exploring the patterns of how you relate you will be encouraged to reestablish new patterns and to establish more positive and intimate bonds with your partner. It will also allow you to clarify your goals for the relationship and to work towards making more informed choices.
Relationship difficulties I work with are: poor communication, conflict, affairs, sexual difficulties, jealousy, commitment issues, divorce and premarital counselling.
